I have mixed feelings about this place. Location: It's right off 394 so if this is your area it's pretty easy to get to. There are a lot of familiar named restaurants in the area - (Majors is right next door ). The Restaurant: It was ok. The place was clean and very open in design. We were able to snag a booth which was nice. I know sports bars are noisy - but this place was so loud that I was leaning over my table and cupping my ear and saying "WHAT?" all the time. Also the bathroom was clean - which was nice. The place definitely has the Bar feel over the restaurant feel - they even had a gal at a Pull Tab window. The Food: I ordered A BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and Tom had a chicken wrap with coleslaw. He won in the "Who ordered the better food?" contest. My burger order was for Medium and instead it was Well with some burn on the outside. The bacon was good but the BBQ - I only tasted it once - so it's not real BBQ-y. Tom's wrap on the other hand was light and tasty. He said it was almost perfect for his taste - the chicken was grilled and the sauce was very light - it would have been dry if the cucumbers and tomatoes hadn't been so prevalent. The Waitress: She was a hard worker (It looked like she was stationed on half the restaurant). We ordered coffee and 10 minutes later she showed up with two mini pots and apologized for the wait - but she wanted to brew us fresh coffee so we didn't have to drink the swill that had been in the urn since before 4:00. She pretty much had me from there. How can you not love that? She never checked to see how our food was (which is good actually cuz I hate saying - "The burger was a hockey puck - but I was so starving and so looking forward to my diet splurge that I ate it in three bites") and she didn't spend a whole lot of time on us - which again - I prefer. So when I look back on the whole thing I guess it made the three star cut. I probably won't stop back in here because my burger sucked it and the noise level was insane - but Tom's wrap was really good and the waitress was thoughtful with our excellent coffee - so I don't regret the experience. I would recommend trying them at an off time so the noise level is much lower and maybe avoid the hockey puck burgers.

They have a good happy hour and decent beer selection. All the sports you can watch and friendly service. Most of their food is typical bar food, but they don't screw it up, so I give them that. I like their Wings and Pizza. And they support my kickball league!

Very good food. Had a chicken pot pie that didn't look like one. Fantastic. Service was great. Definitely come back.

Just Not a Sports Bar. The place is fine for post-softball drinks, or a quick burger, but it fails as a sports bar. Not only do they lack high-definition on their TV, but they do not play the sound for the games on the sets. Asked why either the NFL night game or the MLB playoff game was not being played over the speakers, the manager indicated that she could not please both baseball fans and football fans, so she would just keep playing the 80's music.

The weather was lousy when I checked this place out - didn't want to venture too far away from the hotel [in from out of town], and the roads were pretty icy, plus I had a hot date the next evening [trying this thing out called "Tinder" to help get over my divorce]. It has a pretty standard "dive-bar-with-decent-food" feel to it, and it was a welcoming ambiance. The chili was OK - could have used a little more beef and less vegetables, and the burger was solid, but simple. Enjoyed that pickles and onions are the standard toppings - they know what they're doing here! Beers are reasonably priced too. Only complaint is that the crowd gets a little grouchy when there's a big sports game on and you want to have the staff change all of the channels to Storage Wars Texas - there was a new episode on that night and the hotel didn't have a VCR for me to record it [hotel is now on my "black list"]. Good place in a pinch, but may be worth your while to drive a little further for an exceptional experience.

JJ's Club House is an upscale dive bar. During the day, they serve the corporate drones of Saint Louis Park and the surrounding area. In the evening, when the drones have moved on their drone homes in the 'burbs, JJ's becomes a rock solid sports bar with good bar food and lots of beer. The food and drink prices are fair. The layout is very roomy. The staff is a cut above what I would expect at a place like this. Overall, this is a good choice for drones as well as normal humans.

Come here a lot for Monday night football because they have tons of TVs, usually not to busy, and wings special after 7. Wings are great, nice and crispy with just the right amount of sauce! Always have had really good food whenever I've been here. Only complaint is the service. Every time I've been here it takes forever to get a refill, food, and the check. Usually ask for the check when we can even if we aren't ready to go otherwise you wait for 30 min. It does not fail if it's busy or dead it's always bad. It's like customers are an inconvenience for them. Many times they will avoid eye contact with you and walk by just so they don't have to help you it seems, which is terrible cuz the food is good. Now I've just come to accept and prepare that the service is always going to bad.

I was not impressed at all. I ordered their "special", a turkey melt. The turkey had to be packaged and microwaved. It was extremely hot and had the texture of soft rubber. I just didn't care for it, and I was hungry. I am staying right across the street and I won't be going back.

Good happy hour, convenient location right off 394, and actually a pretty good patio for warmer weather. The main reason you should go to JJ's though? The reuben balls. SO GOOD. I dream about them. I could eat a bucket of them and not be satisfied. The other food I've had here has been fine, nothing memorable, but get there for those reuben balls and you will not be sorry.

I think this place only wants to serve drinks. Food service is poor and it is as if they just opened the place. I ordered a chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato. When it arrived,I asked for some mayo (pretty common on a chicken sandwich. I got a packet of mayo (like one you get at a fast food restaurant). When my check came, I was charged 75 cents for the packet of mayo. What kind of restaurant charges for mayo? Definitely will not be back or recommend. Should be zero stars.

Decent bar with typical bar food. It is a perfect spot for my softball team to go to after our games, but I wouldn't look to it for much else. They do have daily deals. Fortunately for us, on Monday's they have 50 cent wings. I was in a burger mood the last time I was there, and the mushroom burger I had really hit the spot.

Umm, it's just alright. The service was very friendly and acknowledging, the food is just typical mediocre bar food. We are frequent West Enders so I value this place because it's just a straight forward, no frills, comfy bar and the people are there because they just want to have a drink and watch the game. Good enough for me!

JJ's is off the chain!!! I order something new everytime I go, and everything I order is always amazing. Buffalo chicken sandwich, wings, buffalo chicken wrap, any of there salads and burgers are also really good. Service is quick and friendly. Great place to watch the game too - lots of flat screens! Its a great hang out for families and friends!! They have really nummi drinks too!!

The ice crunched under our feet as we walked into the sports bar. When smoking was allowed I could see this place wafting with nicotine clouds, but now it is full of big screen TVs, trivia screens, neighborhood patrons and the like. We sat down and the had a decent beer selection on tap, including Summit Oatmeal Stout. I went with a couple of Summit EPAs though to quench my thirst before seeing Sherlock Holmes at the new St. Louis Park theaters. Our server was very attentive and quick to fill water and beers. My wife took awhile to decide what she wanted, but I chose the gumby chicken sandwich because the highlighted it prominently in the menu. Basically a chicken breast with Canadian bacon, Swiss and Cheddar I think. With pico de gallo on top. The sandwich came out on a normal hamburger bun with a nice helping of real nice and crispy fries. I liked that they had mustard on the table (Always a plus) Whenever I get something with pico de gallo I am disappointed, I always ask myself why I get it. It always ends up dry. It isn't the restaurant's fault, but I should have got some of their red Bulldog hot sauce added to it to moisten it up. Overall, a solid sandwich, but I would probably get the chicken Philly in the future. My wife got the basic chicken sandwich and the server gladly substituted cottage cheese for fries and gave her toasted wheat bread instead of a white bun. (Very cool, it is the little things) I played a couple rounds of trivia while munching on the meal and had some good conversation with my wife. The place seemed like a great neighborhood establishment and if I lived closer I would be there often for trivia, We had a two for one from the Entertainment book and with two big beers and tip, it came to about 28 bucks. Sherlock Holmes was pretty good too.

JJ's is a fun place to go to with any size group. I've only tried a few items off their menu; mini burgers at HH and the pepperoni pizza sticks - both good. Can't comment on the beer selection; I know they have Miller Lite & that's all I need to know! This is a great bar if you live in the area, don't want to go to the West End & enjoy a low-key night out!

This is a nice laid back place with a decent selection of bar food. The food is actually quite good for the price and every time I have been there the service was good for us. Pretty good place to hang out and catch a game too.

Great place for getting together with guys! Plenty of tvs to watch games, great bar food, and overall good sport bar atmosphere. My buddies and I go to JJ's after our rec ball games not only because of these things but also because the staff is friendly, reliable and attentive. My favorites for food? Love the Philly dip, pita pizzas, Cuban sandwich, Italian grinder. If you like grilled cheese with meat on it, they have offered up adding ham onto it and putting on ciabatta (not on menu), awesome! Oh, and make sure with the fries you ask for the Cajun seasoning on them too, nice tasty add. Highly recommend JJs...and in summer it only gets better with their patio...

Great price, average food, poor service. It was nice outside so we decided to sit on the patio. Bad idea. Took at least 5 minutes to get a waitress, and 15 or more to even get menus, after being asked by our waitress, the girl (another waitress) that brought our drinks, then finally when we stared at our waitress angrily as she walked by with drinks for another table. We got the jalapeno potato poppers and Reuben balls off the appetizer menu. The Reuben balls were decent, but there were only about 6 of them, and the poppers were pretty sad, the ranch had more kick than the jalapenos did. The only reason I liked it somewhat here was the price. The drinks and beer were only $3.75 each and all the food was only about $14.

Great food. I eat here at least twice a month. Currently, my favorite foods there are Dales Roast Beef Sandwich, which hau sauerkraut and hotsauce on it. Delicious. Also, great sweet potato tots.

Mediocre. They have a lot of televisions, like you would expect in a sports bar. They have a $2.75/20 oz Miller deal on Sundays, like you would expect in a sports bar. I had a grilled cheese that had a lot of bread to it but not a lot of cheese, though they do get props in my book for slapping a tomato on that puppy. Two friends were pleased with their chicken sandwiches, the third wasn't really digging her fajita-wrap. To their credit, the service was good and my glass of Diet Coke did not run dry until I asked for it to be that way. Probably would only come here again if it was the only way I was going to see a long lost friend.

I used to love jj's but they changed my favorite burger, the black and bleu burger...atmosphere and service is still good though, but without good food then why go?

I found my bar in Minneapolis. A bar in the center and tall tables/booths surrounding it, JJ's is a well lit bar that is filled with locals, all ready to discuss sports. Though I couldn't find something healthy on the menu (hey, I'm eating at a bar, so I can't complain), the sweet potato chips were great. They have good prices on beer and tons of TV's fill the place. There were good crowds each night I was there, but the Twins were on each time. Great service from the bar. Loved the business cards that read, "Gone to smoke, - Don't touch my drink" Will hit this place up each time I'm in town.

JJ's is a nice watering hole spot - sports bar set up, LOUD, drink specials and fried food galore. We always get an appetizer that consists of potato chips loaded with melted cheese and bacon. Dangerous :) Go at the right happy hour times and you can entertain a table of 20 with drinks and apps for less than what you would pay for one round of drinks elsewhere.

Buzztime Trivia, "Cheers" feel. Truly a neighborhood bar. Be sure to ask for the Sunday pizza special, a Medium one topping pizza and free pitcher or beer (unadvertised special).

When my husband became hell bent on coming to this place for lunch over the weekend, all I could do is think of the review I had recently read from Jennifer L. So I am thinking, great, a hockey puck burger and yelling to hear each other over our meal! Even though I had been warned about the burgers, I still went for it, since nothing else on the menu seemed appealing. It actually wasn't too bad. Wasn't over done, and was pretty tasty. The noise level however was unreal. The TVs were turned up as loud as they could go and I swear they had them also broad casted over a loud speaker or something. Which in turn, caused everyone in the place to have to yell at their table mates, which made it even louder. My head hurt by the time I left. Our waitress was ok. She wasn't overly friendly or real eager to help, she was just kinda there. My biggest shock was when the bill came and I saw that we were charged for condiments that we requested. 75 cents for some ranch dressing and 25 cents for some mayo. It's not that we couldn't afford that extra $1 it's the principal of it. Maybe next time I should bring a jar of mayo and a bottle of dressing with just to see if they appreciate that as much as I appreciated them charging me!

The food here is bar food. Although I applaud them in there attempt to jazz up the menu. I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was good in that it had a heaping ton of pulled pork but it had some secret sauce and it wasn't made panini style. Good in its own way. The onion rings and reuben balls were solid. Beer selection could have been better. Overall, a nice place to grab a burger, beer and watch the game.
